May 25 @ 9:00 am - May 26 @ 4:30 pm
Registration for the 2021 Higher Education Suicide Prevention Coalition (HESPC) annual conference is now open! For information concerning presentations, exhibiting opportunities, and registration, please visit the conference page here. Continuing education credits will be available to purchase before the conference, but they are not yet available on the registration site. Please check back on the website for further information about this. In addition to presentations and conference events for campus faculty and staff, the HESPC partners with Active Minds and the JED Foundation to host a student track at the conference for those students advocating for mental health promotion and suicide prevention on their campuses. Anyone with questions concerning the HESPC conference may reach out to Julia Mead at: Julia.firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Higher Education Suicide Prevention Coalition was established in 2015 through Pennsylvania’s Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention grant from SAMHSA. The HESPC has grown well beyond Pennsylvania and has hosted participants from all over the United States at the annual conference, as well as various other campus suicide prevention meetings and activities. While there is a small fee for the conference, that fee is used to cover costs of the conference beyond what the grant can support. The HESPC does not and cannot (we are federally supported) profit from the conference, so any residual funds are put into future conferences and events. To learn more about the HESPC, please visit www.hespc.org.
